In our second My TCM blog, we spoke with Netherlands-based Jantien v.d. Zijden about her experience with TCM.

Jantien coaches at Eldenia, a regional club in Arnhem (Netherlands), with both boys and girls within the development phase. Eldenia's Men's first team play in the lower regional league and their Women's first team play top class (highest national amateur level).

Jantien said: "As a coach I mostly train girls and woman teams. Although I started with training U12 and U15 boys and recreative U17 and U19 girls in the past.

"Later on I trained with the Eldenia Academy U13 girls. Recently, I worked as an assistant coach for the Women's first team and also as an assistant coach for the Men's first team. I have also worked as an assitant coach at an u20 semi-professional club."

Jantien has been using The Coaching Manual for around four years, after finding out about it through a search on Google while looking for coaching tools.

She aded: "It's helped me improve as a coach in so many ways. Providing information, infographics, design tools, webinars, sessions and practices with real in-depth details and key points on coaching moments."

Jantien is also taking part in the TCM Certificate - Level 1 course.

Regarding the enforced downtime that has come with COVID-19, Jantien added: "I have used this time to develop myself as a coach and learn more about the game and work on coaching philosophy. I'm also trying to translate ideas into Covid-proof practice of into ideas of play for the future."

Thanks, Jantien!
