A word from Rob...
What/who inspired you to get into football?
Ever since I can remember, my life has revolved around football. Just like Steven and the other guys, I've been very fortunate to be a season ticket holder from a very young age, whilst experiencing trips abroad with my Dad and friends for memorable matches.
In terms of playing, my Dad had a huge influence on me as he played at a high standard which enabled me to perform at a similar level myself. Despite playing at a high level during my teenage years and trialling at many clubs, my focus turned to coaching and furthering my skill set.
At the age of 18, I moved to Southampton Solent University for 3 years on a Football Studies degree which enabled me to grow as a coach and gain my coaching badges whilst also understanding more about the Psychological, Physiological and Sociological effects of football around the world.
Why is The Coaching Manual important for Football?
The Coaching Manual is a fantastic tool to develop coaches regardless of their ability. With the practices and sessions that are available, it allows coaches to focus on key points which they can then deliver through their own style of coaching.
Additionally, our commitment to coach development is clear to see through our extensive library of sessions, interviews and webinars with respected coaches within the game. Personally, the best part about The Coaching Manual is the ability to take that journey as a coach, starting from the training ground section and watching the coaches in action, all the way to creating your own sessions and practices with the 'my content' section. There are endless possibilities with regards to your development.
